(shadow, dark circle)
The “tear trough” is the dented area below the eyes.
The lower eyelid can create a shadow in this area which results in a tired look.
Tear trough forms at the border where the relatively thin skin of the area surrounding the eye meets the relatively thick skin from the nose. It may form in people of all ages and it is recognised as a sign of early ageing. The pronunciation of tear trough occurs for many reasons: volume loss, orbital fat herniation, skin laxity.
It is important to highlight that much of the tear trough deformity can be effectively treated only by medium cheek volume replacement.
Volume replacement may solve totally or partially the problem.
